Awakening Radiance — A Moment I’m Proud to Share
Something really lovely happened recently: I was asked to create a banner image for the Awakening Radiance open call hosted by The 34 Gallery, and they chose my piece for the official announcement. It’s a small thing on the surface, but for me it feels meaningful — because this isn’t just any open call or any gallery.
The 34 Gallery is part of the global mental-health initiative led by Simuka Africa, an organisation working to support vulnerable youth, survivors of child marriage, and communities affected by trauma. The gallery uses art as a bridge — a way to uplift voices, create emotional connection, and offer moments of healing through creativity. Every exhibition they run is tied in some way to well-being, resilience, and human dignity.

This month’s open call, Awakening Radiance, explores how we reconnect with inner light — especially in difficult or uncertain times. It asks artists to reflect on quiet brilliance, subtle glow, gentle magic, and the small sparks that help us feel grounded again.
