From an Unexpected Invitation to a Wonderful Selection

One of the things I love most about sharing my artwork is that you never know where it might end up or who it might connect with.

A little while ago, I received a message from the team at 34 Gallery that completely caught me by surprise. They had come across my artwork "Paper Trails" and personally invited me to submit it to their Savor Open Call. They told me they loved the piece and felt it was "such a terrific way to encourage a love of reading, literature & poetry."

Those words meant so much to me. Paper Trails wasn't originally created for this open call. It began as my interpretation of a paper-mâché themed challenge, inspired by the idea of building an artwork entirely from fragments of printed pages, handwritten words, and the stories they carry with them. To see someone connect with it in such a meaningful way was incredibly special.

I'm now very happy to share that Paper Trails has been selected for the Savor Open Call by 34 Gallery. It feels especially rewarding because the journey began with a personal invitation rather than a submission I had planned.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at 34 Gallery for seeing something in this piece that resonated so deeply. Moments like these remind me why I love creating and sharing my work. You never really know where a single artwork might lead—or whose imagination it might spark.
