Selected for “Film Noir” by 34 Gallery

The theme invited artists to explore mystery, emotion, shadow and light through the visual language of film noir. For my piece, I focused on a quiet moment after something has changed — that point where everything still feels dark, but a small sign of hope begins to appear.

The figure sits alone in an almost empty room, surrounded by deep shadows. A single beam of light reaches through the darkness, while the letter in their hand becomes the one object that has changed the whole scene.

For me, the piece is about the moment after difficult news, when there are still more questions than answers, but something inside you begins to look for a way forward. 

“Where there is shadow, there must also be light — and where there is darkness, there is still room for hope.”

I’m really pleased that “After the Letter” was chosen for the exhibition and grateful to 34 Gallery for including my work.
