The Story Behind the Song
As I Am wasn’t planned as an album from the beginning. It grew slowly, one song at a time, from a need to put certain thoughts and feelings somewhere they could rest.
The songs came from moments where I was trying to understand myself better, stay true to who I am, and not lose myself in the expectations of others. They are also about choosing kindness, even when that kindness is not always returned.
Music gave me somewhere to place the things that words and images alone could not carry.
For a long time, I expressed most of what I felt through writing and AI art. But sometimes words or images alone were not enough. Working with Suno gave me another way to express those thoughts and feelings and, in some cases, to finally let them go.
Created with Suno and finalized in GarageBand, As I Am became a collection of eight songs. Each one came from a different moment, but together they reflect the same need for honesty, self-understanding, and staying true to who I am.
Maybe some of these songs will find someone who needs them, just as much as I needed to write them.
